4-H Clover Style Competition

Emma Jane and the 4-H Clover Style Competition

 1st Place in School Wear

This is the school-ware ensemble that Emma Jane made for the 4-H Clover Style competition today in Mt. Juliet, TN. As usual, I forgot my camera. Our extension agent had her camera, though. I should be getting some pictures from her soon. The fabric is Lilly Belle by designer Bari J. The jacket pattern is Simplicity 1797. Emma Jane omitted the facings and added a full lining. The flower brooch is a free tutorial from the Sew Serendipity blog. Emma Jane said that the brooch was really fun to make!  http://blog.sewserendipity.com/search/label/Summer%20Flower%20Tutorial

Here is the dress!!! The pattern is Sew Serendipity BeBe by Kay Whitt. It is super cute. I love it. Emma Jane serged all of her seams and did the gathering with the ruffler foot on her sewing machine. You get extra credit for using a serger in this competition. There is also a 22" invisible zipper in the back of the dress.

The purse pattern is the Rosetta Ruffle Bag by Sis Boom. Emma Jane made a few changes to the pattern. She did not sew the ruffles into the side seams of the purse. She attached the ruffles after she sewed the side seams together. Emma Jane also added the cross-body strap with the hardware for that professional look!
